Keeping Your Propane Appliances In Top Shape

- 5:10 pm - January 11th, 2022

Your propane-fueled appliances are essential to your home comfort. That’s why you count on Harris Comfort’s propane deliveries to keep your tank full and your home amenities fueled up and ready to go! Having fuel for your appliances is one thing, making sure those appliances are in top working condition is another.

Here are some helpful tips that can reduce the risk of propane leaks, CO leaks and other potential malfunctions!

Let your appliances breathe by ensuring all ventilation is clear so that gases can flow easily out of the home. Also, keep the area around your appliances clear to allow proper airflow.

Do not try to modify or repair valves, regulators, connectors, controls or other appliance and cylinder/tank parts. Doing so creates the risk of a gas leak that can result in property damage. Leave modifications and repairs to the pros at Harris Comfort!

Have older appliance connectors inspected. If you have propane appliances that are more than 20 years old, have a qualified technician (Hint: We have plenty of those!) to inspect the connectors.

Flammable vapors are a safety hazard. Store gasoline, paint thinner and other flammable liquids away from your propane-fueled appliances as the appliance’s pilot light could ignite the fumes and vapors.

Don’t risk it! If you cannot operate any part of your propane system, or if you think an appliance isn’t working properly, give us a call right away.
