Our heat pump stopped providing air conditioning to our house some time last night. It was so hot this morning in the house and it promises to be an over 90 degree day today.

We called another service - that also starts with H - they could not come out until Thursday!
Called Harris and they were there inside 30 minutes, diagnosed the problem and the unit was up and running within 2-3 hours. What amazing service!! Technician was professional, polite and answered all our questions. How nice!!

Any time we had a technician come to our house (which was very many times before our new heater a few years back), we had no problems. Dear Mr. Harris:

Recently I needed to replace two air conditioning systems when they both failed during an early spring heat wave.
I will not elaborate on the considerable dissatisfaction that I experienced with the initial two HVAC contractors that I had contacted; other than to say that I was very discouraged and seriously aggravated with their purported “service”.
However it was a complete opposite result when I contacted Harris Comfort. Your sales representative, Tom Christie, promptly returned my call to set up an appointment, was on time for the appointment, thoroughly investigated the job requirements and installation conditions; including taking photographs and measurements of the installation areas and crawling around in the 100+ degree temperature in the attic to inspect the ductwork.
I was further pleased when only a few hours after leaving my home he called with a verbal quote and by seven a.m. the next morning I received the e-mail proposal. Impressed with Tom’s thoroughness I readily accepted the contract.
My appreciation of your company’s services increased further when the installers arrived as scheduled and very efficiently removed the old equipment, took delivery of the new systems and proceeded to work diligently to skillfully complete the job. When they finished in the time estimated I had two expertly installed high efficiency and high-quality systems that are performing perfectly.
From initial sales contact to completion of the work the proficiency of Harris was truly outstanding. Thank you.

Dear Dave,

Your company and people did such an extraordinary job installing our new heating and air conditioning systems this summer that I just had to send you this letter. We wouldn't expect you to remember it since you have so very many customers in the area, but 20 years ago you met with us here in our 200-year old home and advised us on the high-efficiency heaters we needed to install and on the process we needed to follow to convert to natural gas from oil. In later years, you also handled the heating and cooling needs for the vacation-rental property we own next door.

So when it came time to replace and upgrade the HVAC systems in this house, we simply called Harris. We did not even consider asking any other company to bid. We were not disappointed! As always, Harris exceeded our expectations. In today's world that is no small accomplishment.

Tom Christie, our Harris Equipment Sales Representative, could not have been more knowledgeable or more professional. (Or personable.) The man clearly knows what he's talking about. And what a boon it was for him to give us the PECO rebate applications pre-filled out. A really nice touch. (We also appreciated the chocolates he sent after the job had been completed. Again, a really nice touch.)

Kurt and Ed, as I'm sure you know, led the installation. And we simply cannot say enough about them. They creatively solved some challenging ducting problems and were always sensitive to the aesthetics of our antique house. Greg, Ken, and Billy were top-shelf as well.

The skills all of these guys have are incredibly impressive. (I know a little bit about job skills because, as a freelance writer, I've written hundreds of video scripts and print publications designed to help high school students understand what various jobs involve.)

But what's most impressive, at least to the typical homeowner, is the pleasant, outgoing personality each of them has. As such, they really are the "face of Harris Comfort." They are the reason Emily and I would never call in anybody else for heating and cooling sales and service. Harris is simply the best!

Lastly, they walked us through all of the changes and made sure we understood the workings of the heater, air conditioner, and the thermostat.

Enclosed is my first payment for an air conditioning and heat unit I recently had installed in my home by your company. I knew the old one was on its last leg because it broke down two summers ago, when my husband was home and terminally ill. I was so frightened because he had trouble breathing and a hot house was dangerous for him. I called your company, because it was one you had installed some years before. Someone was sent out to service it almost immediately. Due to overwhelming medical bills, my finances were very limited at the time, and knowing my circumstances, your serviceman kindly repaired it the best he could. It worked for a long time. However, it eventually broke down again, as I was warned would happen. I'm not even sure when it broke down that time, but once again your serviceman came out to help me immediately, and patched it together for me. Because I was so appreciative of the exemplary service your company provided me each time I needed help, I decided that when I was able to replace the old unit, I wasn't even going to call several companies for quotes, as is always recommended. Your company has been so responsive I felt as though you earned the right to replace it.

I was in New Orleans, sadly tending to the issues involving my darling son's sudden death in a traffic accident there. After making it home safely from Iraq twice, this has be incomprehensible. I got a call from the person who was house-sitting for us. He told me the air conditioner was not working again. Not the call I wanted to get at a time like that. Once again I advised him to call your company, and once again they had someone here very promptly. This time the unit was completely beyond repair. I was advised a new compressor was required for a fix, at a great deal of expense, or a new unit. It didn't make sense to me to spend money on a new compressor when another part of the unit might break down, so opted to have a new unit put in, even though I am not in much better financial shape now with the expenses involved for my son's funeral. I was however, under a great deal of pressure, because I had 15-20 people coming with me from New Orleans for my son's services here, and they were going to be staying with me. Once again your company representatives, including Tom Christie, recognized my situation and I assume with a great deal of effort, rearranged their schedule, and were able to have someone here the next day to install the new unit.

Service such as your company provided me requires recognition, which is why I am writing. It is a rarity these days, and you are to be commended. For what it is worth, I wanted you to know that if I am ever asked who to contact for HVAC, I will happily provide your name.
