Is it Time to Replace Your Water Heater?

- 2:56 pm - January 11th, 2018

If you have to flip a coin to see who has to take a lukewarm shower, it may be time to replace your water heater. Harris Comfort can help: we install state-of-the-art, high-efficiency water heaters from Burnham, Weil-McLain and Crown Boiler Co. that deliver enough hot water for the whole family. Here’s how you know you’ll need one:

  • It’s old – The older your water heater gets, the tougher it is for it to provide adequate hot water. Conventional water heaters typically last around 10 years, so if yours is that old or older, you should replace it.
  • It’s undersized – If you’re not getting enough hot water to run all your appliances, your water heater may simply not have the capacity to produce enough for your needs. One of our expert technicians can help you evaluate if your water heater is undersized, and help you pick the right replacement.
  • It’s loud – If you hear clanging and banging noises originating from your storage tank water heater, call us. Chances are, the noises are on account of bubbles escaping from a sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank, and the sediment may need to be flushed out.
  • It’s dripping – Water underneath and around the tank can indicate corrosion, leaks, and condensation to name a few. If you notice water around your tank, contact us right away.
