Is It Time for An Air Conditioning Upgrade?

- 8:50 am - March 8th, 2016

After a topsy-turvy winter, it looks like we can finally greet the return of spring in earnest. And all Bucks County residents know what that means: the hot summer months are not far off! After a few months’ reliance solely on your heating system, it’s time to get reacquainted with your air conditioner. The best way to do that of course is to schedule a tune-up performed by an expert Harris Comfort technician, which is one of many services included in our convenient Comfort Service Plans.

But what if last summer’s scorching weather put the burn on your air conditioner’s performance? If that’s the case, Harris Comfort has you covered – with an expansive selection of the cooling industry’s best products, including super-efficient central air systems from Carrier®, convenient and affordable ductless systems from Mitsubishi Electric, and climate control interfaces from Honeywell. In short, we’re your one-stop home cooling shop.

So how can you tell if your current cooling system is ready to be replaced? Our technicians will be able to make that call based on their evaluations, but below are a few indicators you can look out for to determine if it’s time for an upgrade:

  • Your system’s age: First off, is your cooling equipment over ten years old? If so, it’s probably not operating nearly as efficiently as it used to, and additionally, lacks many of the new features and capabilities of today’s advanced air conditioners.
  • Odd noises: An air conditioner shouldn’t operate at a noticeably loud volume. Clinking and clanking are reliable indicators of a problem.
  • Strange odors: Pungent or foul smells have no place in your home’s air conditioning vents, and could point to mold accumulation inside your ductwork, or in fact, the unit itself.
  • Spotty cooling: What good is a whole-home air conditioner if it doesn’t cool your whole home? If you notice your living room is cool but your kitchen reminds you of a green house, there’s likely something wrong.

With so many great options to check out, there’s no reason to put off the inevitable. Contact Harris Comfort today, and have your brand new cooling system installed before the hot weather is back for good.
